To add: I also think Ben Johnson calls plays to protect Goff. I realize that we can’t go injury free, but damn between Rags, Jackson, and Vatai going down all at some point were running on fumes inside. We did have some success running last week, not sure why we went away from it so much other than just getting behind. I also think it especially hurts us when our interior lineman go down because running effectively is our bread and butter. We don’t have cold weather to worry about the rest of the year so there is a chance. When that gets straightened out, if it ever does, things will get back on track. At the same time, JAMO needs to come down with more balls.
Goff needs to give JAMO a good chance on his throws. And I’m not entirely sure the botched snap was his fault. I think Goff played poorly overall, no question, but I also think his stats were exacerbated by two pretty meaningless INTs at the end of each half.
